Project Description

The 20-story office building called the Barcode Facade | AKH BT 71 located in Wien, was entirely gutted, leaving only the reinforced concrete frame.
We are working at the new facade, which is built of metal panels and glass elements in a barcode pattern. This is the conversion of an outdated concrete shell into a modern office building for the Vienna Healthcare Group and the University Hospital Vienna.

The project AKH BT 71 consists in renovating an existing structure of 13.500 square meters originally hosting a dormitory. Furthermore, the project involves 3,600 square meters of ventilated facades.

The stunning “Barcode” effect is achieved through the use of four different colors of metal panels, which are very similar but different. The alternating colors and dimensions, with three different widths, have created a truly unique visual impact.
